RMS Queen Mary

After our day at Disneyland, we travelled down the coast to Long Beach. We arrived in good time and boarded the ship. The views were magnificent not only of the ship, but from it as well.

We enjoyed our dinner at the ship's restuarant: 'Sir Winstons'. We enjoyed dishes such as Lobster, Beef Wellington & a Chateau Briand which was carved at the table! It was absolutely divine

Each of the rooms had it's own individual charm, it was all wood panelled and contained original fittings such as fresh/salt water taps and cast iron baths.

In the morning we did a self-guided tour of the ship, which included areas such as the engine room and an original propeller. These were fascinating. Everything seemed to be extra huge! That was after we experienced an awesome Titanic moment at the front of the ship.

I also believe we experienced a haunting... As we sat, waiting for Julie to catch up, the three of us... Peter, Juliet and I, heard screams and splashing noises coming from this door. Juliet believes it was a CD playing, however I believe we experienced a visit from one of the Queen Mary's many ghosts...

Watch the next post to see our days travelling through Santa Monica, Pismo Beach & Monterey
